“In stock” answers a broad question about a product card but may not tell you whether a specific size is available. A model can have many units overall while one variant is unavailable. Keep these levels separate from the start.
Decide whether you need overall stock, a particular variant's availability, or both. A model-level total cannot tell you if size M can be ordered.
Overall values and variant lists
The Akmelo Wildberries source has stock_total, available, and sizes. The first is total available stock, the second indicates availability, and the third contains sizes with stock and prices. They are different views, not interchangeable names for one column.
The source may provide an overall figure separately from size details. Do not assume that summing variant rows always produces the same total. If one size drives the decision, inspect that size directly.
Keep variant attributes
Clothing needs model, color, and size. Other categories may need volume, bundle contents, or package quantity. Save these beside the stock value so identical figures remain tied to the right offers.
Check price too: variants of one card may differ. A card-level price does not replace the price of a specific offer. See the product matching guide.
Do not invent missing data
If the ready-made source could not obtain an overall quantity, stock_total and available may be blank. That does not mean “out of stock.” In sizes, zero can also appear when warehouse data is unavailable. A single stock value cannot distinguish that from confirmed zero stock; inspect the source response for the variant.
Compare results collected under the same conditions and record the observation time. Stock is an observation, not a guarantee of availability at a future purchase.
Prepare data for its recipient
If the recipient needs all variants, check how it handles nested data. A table may need a separate representation; software may accept an array of objects. See the CSV, JSON, and XML comparison.
Before regular delivery, inspect cards with different numbers of sizes and compare output samples. Keep each variant connected to its stock and price. If total stock is positive but the desired size is unavailable, the recipient must be able to see that distinction.
